Greetings Friends, Colleagues and Art Lovers:
We are hosting a raffle to help out our dear friend and talented artist, Theodora Merry, who has been undergoing treatment for breast cancer since March, 2009. The side effects of radiation, ongoing chemotherapy infusions combined with hormone therapy treatment have taken their toll. Her chemo treatments are scheduled to continue through June 2010 and hormone treatment for an additional 4 1/2 years. Recently, she suffered an additional setback when she developed pneumonia and a yet-to-be-identified virus that has wreaked havoc on her respiratory system.
Fortunately, Theodora qualified for financial assistance that covers her current medical treatments, however, she has been unable to work steadily for some time. She has managed to stay on top of her monthly bills with the help of friends and family, and with the assistance of a couple of fundraisers early in her treatment plan. With her recent respiratory set-back, however, she is not currently able to work and is under extreme emotional and financial duress. She has asked for very little help to date, and she really needs our help now.
With the gracious donations of drawings and prints by four wonderfully talented and established artists, we hope to raise enough money to help Theodora get through the next few months without having to wonder where the money to pay the bills will come from. Please consider purchasing a raffle ticket for $10 (see below). For a mere $10, you will have the opportunity to win one of the wonderful drawings/photos/prints presented below.
If you wish to donate more than $10 you can specify how many tickets you wish to purchase and/or you may continue shopping to purchase raffle tickets for another work of art.
IF you wish to donate ANONYMOUSLY, you may mail a check made out to Theodora Merry to Help4Theo Raffle, 706 W. 31st St, Richmond, VA 23225, or send your donation directly through PayPal (log onto www.paypal.com and send donation to [email protected]). The amount of your donation will not be disclosed to Theodora or to the public under any circumstances. ** Please be sure to specify how many raffle tickets for each artist you would like. If details are not specified, we will select for you.
IMPORTANT: You will not receive an actual raffle ticket, but you will receive an acknowledgment for your payment, that will serve as your proof of purchase. Please hang onto this to claim your prize, should you win!!
WHEN / WHERE? The raffle will be Saturday, June 19, 2010 from 2pm - 4pm at the Visual Art Studio (208 W. Broad St). Also, please check back to this web page periodically for updates, become a fan of Help4Theo on FaceBook, or e-mail Allison Andrews at [email protected] with your questions/concerns.
